Spend a Saturday afternoon at the Connecticut Children’s Museum with your favorite preschooler or kindergartner—ages 2--6 You’ll enjoy storytelling accompanied by music performed by an engaging NHSO musician. The stories and music work together to illuminate the imaginary worlds that await the beginning reader and to encourage an interest in reading and in music. This season the NHSO continues its ongoing partnership with New Haven’s Fine Arts Radio station WMNR. Founded in 1973 as a non-commercial station, WMNR broadcasts "the classics" 24 hours a day throughout Connecticut and regions of New York State.
Throughout our 2010-2011 season, live recordings of our Symphony Series concerts will be broadcast in their entirety, the month following their performance, bringing twice the listening pleasure to our concert attendees, and all those classical music lovers who were unable to attend the concert performance!
Each broadcast includes introductory remarks about the performance by Music Director William Boughton. Broadcasts which occur in months where no concert is scheduled will include previews to upcoming special events and concerts with musical examples.
