NHSO Presents Family Concerts

The NHSO Family Concert Series offers children and their families a lively introduction to the orchestra and its music through child-friendly performances of familiar repertoire. The orchestra and some special guest performers bring music to life for young audiences in one-hour programs that include narration and visuals along with the music.

Instrument Discovery Zone: A half hour before each concert children can go to an Instrument Discover Zone where they can meet the musicians and touch, toot, tickle and maybe even tease a tune out of orchestral instruments. Nothing peaks curiosity like an opportunity to make a little music, and who knows, maybe there are a few budding virtuosos in our midst!

Despite the nay sayings of her fellow Hippos, Greta's best friend Polly (a frog) believes that perhaps she can actually fly, but just needs help to learn how. Greta and Polly embark on an adventure to seek out the famous Hippo Wizards who can hopefully teach young Greta how to realize her dream.

The story will be accompanied by four Double Basses playing music especially composed for the story. More
