This unique concert event gives an inside look into the process of creating and presenting a new piano concerto composed and performed by Branford pianist Stacey Rose. Presented in the format of discussion, rehearsal, and a premiere performance of this exciting new work, Rose together with Maestro Boughton and the NHSO, debut a work for solo piano and 50 piece symphony orchestra to the New Haven Community.
Stacey Rose................Raisons d'Etre for solo piano and orchestra
Captivating audiences across the world with her unique combination of virtuosity, beauty of tone, and musical sincerity, Stacey Rose projects true magnetism on today’s music stage. Ms. Rose began her piano studies at age five and at the age of seven won the Colorado State Piano Competition. She received a B.A. degree from Stanford University, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Piano Performance from The Mannes School of Music. She has represented Steinway pianos as a Steinway Artist since 1992. Ms. Rose has performed as soloist with orchestras in the United States, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, South Africa, Korea, South America, Russia, Ukraine, and the Republic of Georgia, often premiering new repertoire in these countries.
