From Hartford:
Take I-91 South to exit 3 (Trumbull Street). At the bottom of the ramp, turn left onto Orange Street. At the first traffic light, turn right onto Grove Street. The Grove Street Parking Garage is on your right (65 Grove Street). We suggest that you park there for NHSO concerts. Woolsey Hall is three blocks further along on Grove Street on the left side of the intersection of Grove and College Streets.
From Fairfield County and New York State via I-95:
Take I-95 North to I-91 North (signs for Hartford); continue to exit 3 (Trumbull Street). At the bottom of the ramp turn left onto Orange Street. From Derby:
Follow Route 34 (Derby Avenue) into New Haven. A block and a half past Ella Grasso Boulevard, take the right fork; Derby Ave becomes George Street. Follow George Street to Church Street (Macy's Department was formerly on this corner). Turn left onto Church Street. Continue to Wall Street (one block past the New Haven Green) and turn right. At the stop sign take a left onto Orange Street. At the first light take a left onto Grove Street. The Grove Street Parking Garage is on your right (between Orange Street and Whitney Avenue). We suggest that you park there for NHSO concerts. Woolsey Hall is three blocks further along on Grove Street on the left side of the intersection of Grove and College Streets.
Parking Information for Woolsey Hall
Street parking in the Woolsey Hall area is available on Grove, College, and Wall Streets, and is free after 7:00 pm.
Grove Street Garage
On NHSO Symphony Series performance dates, subscribers and patrons are encouraged to park at the Grove Street Parking garage and take a free, short shuttle bus ride to Woolsey Hall. Woolsey Hall is three long blocks further along Grove Street on the left side of the intersection of Grove and College Streets.
Subscribers may park at the Grove Street Garage for free on NHSO concert dates with the presentation of their Bravo Card. Hourly rates will apply to all others.
** Please Note: The Grove Street Parking Garage usually closes no later than 11:00pm on NHSO performance dates. Please check closing times before leaving your car at the garage.

From Route 15 Parkway (North or South):
Take exit 60 (CT 10). Turn left onto Dixwell Avenue. If coming from CT-15 North, will pass Hamden Plaza on left on Dixwell. Proceed 1.2 miles. School is on the right.
From I-91 – (North or South):
Take Exit 10 (CT 40 toward Hamden/Cheshire). Take first exit on right. Turn right onto Devine St. Turn right onto State St. Turn right onto Dixwell Avenue. Proceed 1.7 miles. School is on the left.

From New Haven & Shoreline Areas (to Route 34 West):
Take I-95 to Exit 47 marked "Downtown New Haven" (if coming down I-91, take exit , marked "Downtown New Haven." The ramp becomes Frontage Road, (Route 34). Follow Frontage Road to Ella Grasso Boulevard; turn right at Ella T. Grasso Boulevard and left at Derby Ave, which is the continuation of Route 34. Follow Route 34 West to the center of Derby (about 8 miles) and continue under the Route 8 overpass.
At the fourth light after the Route 8 overpass (the light at the bottom of the hill), turn left onto Bridge Street. Proceed over the bridge and get in the right-hand lane. At the first light turn right onto Howe Avenue (Route 110). At next light turn left onto White Street and follow the signs for Route 108 (Webster Bank is on the corner). Pass the bank and turn right onto Perry Avenue (Route 108). At a stop sign, Perry Avenue curves left and becomes Wooster Street and then Shelton Avenue (still Route 108). Follow Route 108 approximately 1.5 miles past Meadow Street to Constitution Boulevard; turn right on Constitution Boulevard; the Intermediate School is 0.3 miles on the right.
From Hartford/Meriden area via Route 15 South (Wilbur Cross Parkway):
From Route 15, take exit 58 (Route 34 West/Derby). Turn right and follow Route 34 West towards Derby (about 3 miles). Continue under the Route 8 overpass. From Danbury (Route 34 East):
On Route 34 East proceed almost to the center of Derby, but instead of going up the hill to the center of town take the first right on Bridge Street and cross the river. Proceed over the bridge and get in the right-hand lane. At the first light turn right onto Howe Avenue (Route 110). From Waterbury (Route 8 South):
Follow Route 8 South to exit 14, (Howe Ave/ Route 110). At the end of the ramp turn right onto Route 110 North (Howe Ave). At the first light follow the signs to Route 108 turning left onto Center Street and then right onto Coram Road. At the end of Coram Road (stop sign), turn left onto Wooster Street (Route 108). Route 108 eventually becomes Shelton Avenue. Follow Route 108 approximately 1.5 miles past Meadow Street to Constitution Boulevard; turn right on Constitution Boulevard; the Intermediate School is 0.3 miles on the right.
From New York and Fairfield County (to Route 8 North):
Take either the Merritt Parkway North (15N) to exit 52 (Route 8 North) or
I-95 North to exit 27A to Routes 25 & 8 North (watch for Routes 25 & 8 to split after several exits and stay in the right 2 lanes towards Shelton on Route 8).
On Route 8 North, take exit 13 (Constitution Blvd). At the end of the ramp turn left onto Constitution Boulevard. At the first light, turn right onto Bridgeport Ave. (which becomes Center Street). Continue to the first traffic light and turn left onto Coram Road (to Route 108). At the end of Coram Road (stop sign), turn left onto Wooster Street (Route 108). Route 108 eventually becomes Shelton Avenue. Follow Route 108 approximately 1.5 miles past Meadow Street to Constitution Boulevard; turn right on Constitution Boulevard; the Intermediate School is 0.3 miles on the right.

From New York via Connecticut Turnpike (I-95):
Take exit 22. Turn left onto Round Hill Road. Proceed to Barlow Road. Turn right and proceed to the gate on your left, marked by twin stone columns. Bear left at the fork to the Quick Center parking lots.
From New Haven via Connecticut Turnpike (I-95):
Take exit 22. Turn right onto North Benson Road (Route 135). Turn left at Barlow Road and proceed to the gate marked by twin stone columns on your right. Bear left at the fork to the Quick Center parking lots.
From New Haven via Merritt Parkway (Route 15): Take exit 44 and make a quick left off the ramp, then another quick left onto Black Rock Turnpike (Route 58), proceed 2 miles to Stillson Road (Route 135) and turn right. Bear left onto North Benson Road. The University entrance will be on your right. Bear left at the fork to the Quick Center parking lots.
From New York via Merritt Parkway (Route 15):
Take exit 44. Turn left off the ramp, and turn right onto Black Rock Turnpike (Route 58) at the light. Follow directions above.

From the New Haven Green
Walk north on College Street to Wall Street. Turn left on Wall Street. Enter the plaza on the right in the middle of the first block. The Beinecke Library is the large white marble and gray granite building facing east.
From outside New Haven
Take Interstate 95 (North or South) to Interstate 91 North (toward Hartford). Proceed on Interstate 91 to Exit 3, Trumbull Street. Follow the exit ramp directly onto Trumbull Street and continue three city blocks to the intersection of Prospect and Trumbull Streets. Turn left onto Prospect Street. Travel for one block to the intersection of Prospect, College, and Grove Streets. Limited parking is available on Grove and College Streets. Walk south on College or High Streets to reach the library’s entrance on Wall Street.
From outside Connecticut
New Haven is located on the shore of Long Island Sound. The city is served by Tweed-New Haven Airport. The closest international airports are New York City's LaGuardia and Kennedy airports, New Jersey's Newark International Airport, and Hartford/Springfield's Bradley International Airport. Shuttle service to New Haven is available at each of those airports. Amtrak has daily service to New Haven's Union Station from Boston and Washington DC. Metro North has hourly service from New York's Grand Central Station. New Haven provides bus service to the Green from the train station and the Shore Line East Commuter Connection stops at several points on or near campus.
Parking
There is limited metered street parking on Grove, College, and York Streets. Parking meters accept nickels, dimes, and quarters. There are two public parking lots in easy walking distance from the Beinecke, one on Grove and Church Streets (two blocks east) and the other on Broadway opposite the Yale Bookstore (two blocks west).

Route 15 (Merritt/Wilbur Cross Parkways):
From the South: Take exit 59. Make a right at bottom of exit. At first light, make left onto Whalley Avenue. Proceed for approx. 5 miles to the center of New Haven; look for Tyco printers on right/Au Bon Pain on left (York Street). Make left at next intersection onto College Street. Make first right onto Wall Street.
From the North: Take exit 61. Drive South on Whitney Avenue for approx. 5 miles. Turn right on Sachem Street at the Peabody Museum traffic light. Continue to the next traffic light and turn left onto Prospect Street. Proceed two blocks to Grove Street, where Prospect Street becomes College Street. Proceed through intersection and take first left onto Wall Street.
Interstate 95:
From the South: Take Exit 47 (downtown New Haven). Proceed to the first exit to the city streets (North Frontage Road). Continue on North Frontage Road for four blocks. Turn right onto York Street. Drive four blocks and turn right onto Elm Street. Continue on Elm until College Street. Make left onto College and take first right onto Wall Street.
From the North: Take Exit 48. (Be in far right lane crossing the Quinnipiac River Bridge) Merge onto I-91North. Take Exit 3 (Trumbull Street). Drive to the end of Trumbull Street (at the fourth traffic light). Turn left onto Prospect Street. Proceed for one block to intersection with Grove Street, where Prospect Street becomes College Street. Proceed through intersection on College and take first left onto Wall Street.
Interstate 91:
From the North: Take Exit 3 (Trumbull Street). Drive to the end of Trumbull Street (at the fourth traffic light). Turn left onto Prospect Street. Proceed for one block to intersection with Grove Street, where Prospect Street becomes College Street. Proceed through intersection on College and take first left onto Wall Street.

From Tweed New Haven Airport - 4 Miles
Take I-95 South to Exit 47 (downtown) onto Route 34. Take Exit 1 and proceed to first traffic light. Take a right at the light onto Church Street. Take a left at the 3rd traffic light onto Chapel Street. Take a left at next traffic light onto Temple Street. Hotel will be on the left side.
From Hartford Bradley International Airport/I-91 South: (50 minutes / 45 Miles)
Take Exit # 3 (Trumbull Street) – go to the third traffic light and take a left onto Temple Street. Follow Temple Street and proceed through three traffic lights. After the third traffic light, the Hotel is located on the left. (155 Temple Street)
From I-95 North and I-95 South
Take Exit #47 and proceed onto Route 34. Take Exit #1 on Route 34 and follow to the first traffic light. Turn right at light (Church Street) and follow to the third traffic light. Turn left at the third traffic light (Chapel Street) and follow to the first traffic light – turn left (Temple Street) and the hotel is on your left (155 Temple Street). Directional city signage (Large yellow signs) is also available to assist from the I-95 exits.
From Union Station - 2 Miles
Take a left onto Union Ave. Take the next right onto Church St. South and go straight. You will reach an overpass. Continue to go straight. At the fourth traffic light take a left onto Chapel St. At the next traffic light take a left onto Temple St. The hotel is on your left.

PARKING:
Street parking in the around Co-Op High School is available on surrounding streets, and is free after 8:00 pm and all day on Sunday. Pay parking lots can be found on College St. between Crown and George Streets, on Crown between Temple and College Streets, on Crown between College and High Streets, and in the parking garage next to the Shubert Theater on College Street.
