Building on the success of the inaugural 2007 Connecticut Youth Orchestra Festival, we are proud to announce the second biennial Connecticut Youth Orchestra Festival, March 21-22, 2009, in New Haven, CT. The Festival will be a rare opportunity for youth orchestras from around Connecticut to gather, perform for each other, learn from special guest artists, and work with world renowned composer Jay Greenberg. Participants orchestras will take part in workshops and clinics by NHSO musicians, Music Director William Boughton, and special guest artists as well as perform in public “workshop concerts” for one another. The Festival will culminate with several youth orchestras joining forces and performing a movement of Jay Greenberg’s Fifth Symphony under Maestro Boughton’s direction and Mr. Greenberg’s supervision.
