Sandra Kensler lives in Madison, Connecticut, where she has her studio. She
studied art in private classes and workshops plus two years at the Lyme Academy
of Fine Arts. She has exhibited her work in New England with the Guilford Art
League, Madison and Clinton Art Societies, New Haven Paint and Clay, Lyme Art
Association, and the Rockport Massachusetts Art Association. Her work has also
hung at the Salamagundi Club in New York City. She has had one-woman shows in
Wisconsin and in Guilford, Centerbrook, and East Haddam, Connecticut.
Sandra teaches "Painting Flat" at the Guilford Art Center. She has been a member
of New Haven Paint and Clay since 1994 and her work is in their permanent
collection. She served on the Board of the Club from 1998 to 2002. Her oil
paintings and watercolors have won numerous prizes, and her work is in private
collections in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Wisconsin,
California, New Orleans, Spain, and Mexico, among other places.
Sandra’s murals can be seen in Martin’s (formerly Esteva) in Guilford, Saint
Frances Hospital in Hartford, Cashman’s Hardware in Clinton, Middlesex Credit
Union in Middletown, and Martin’s Dockside in Branford. Her paintings can be
viewed and purchased at the Petrini Gallery in Avon, Connecticut, as well as at
her studio in Madison.
